Digital Smile Design

Digital smile design is performed on a diagnostic model before starting treatment of correcting or improving the factors that negatively affect aesthetics and function in order to achieve the most ideal aesthetic result desired. It is the “prediction of the treatment outcome” stage carried out by the dentist and technician in a coordinated manner in line with the patient’s wishes and current situation, using digital photographs, digital impressions and bite records obtained from the patient.

Digital smile design is performed by evaluating the tooth alignment, the positions of the teeth, and their mutual contact with each other in a 3D design program before starting the treatment, and then creating the necessary new design on each tooth in accordance with the desired esthetic result and applying it to the patient’s mouth. After the design is completed, it is possible to produce the jaw model with 3D printers and transfer the design to the intact teeth with the silicone indexes obtained from that model. Thus, by bringing together the photo, face scan data and digital impression, the most suitable esthetic treatment result can be predicted, and the most ideal and customized esthetic treatment can be performed.
