Sinus Lifting

After the premolars and molars located in the back of the upper jaw are lost at an early age, the maxillary sinus may expand downwards. In healthy individuals, this bone, which is located around these molars and is called the support bone, decreases in volume with the expansion of the sinus after the teeth are extracted. If an implant is planned to be placed in the relevant area, if the bone volume is not suitable for the placement of sufficient implant length and diameter, sometimes the bone is raised with a closed sinus lift, and sometimes the bone volume in that area is increased with bone grafts.

If the bone is almost completely reconstructed in the area after sinus lift applications, a healing process can be waited for implant placement, and if a sinus lift is applied only to increase the volume in an area with a certain amount of bone, the implant can be placed in the same session. After the sinus lift operation performed under local anesthesia, implants can be applied to the molar areas of the upper jaw and edentulism can be rehabilitated.
