It is a type of prosthesis such as a crown or bridge etc. applied after the teeth are abraded for the purposes of protecting the existing healthy tissues of the teeth, eliminating tooth deficiencies, connecting neighboring teeth to each other and resisting the intraoral forces they are exposed to, etc. In cases where the edentulous space is short/long or covers the entire jaw, implant-supported fixed prostheses can also be applied with single/multiple implant applications.
These prostheses can be produced from different materials such as metal-porcelain, zirconia or all ceramic. These prostheses, which are produced using different materials according to the aesthetic and durability needs, are fixed to the tooth or implant abutments with a cement (adhesive) and cannot be removed from the mouth by the patient. Since they do not move, they increase the patient’s comfort considerably and provide much easier adaptation to the prosthetic structure.
